Description
Designing a family of interfaces for a large set of devices is not easy. It needs to be flexible, consistent and work in many different countries whilst having high usability.
This family of HMIs (7.5”, 3.5”, 9-segment) was designed to blend in with the industrial design. The focus on text allows for high immediate usability. This was important as user research revealed most customers barely interact with the user interface on the device.
To design this interface over 60 interviews were conducted, in focus group and in 1:1 settings. Advanced prototypes have been developed to quickly iterate different navigational concepts and understand impact on usability.
This family of UI is the Viessmann standard for upcoming years. The product won several awards.
